Arrest of Wanted Male Results in Numerous Charges

Stony Plain, Alberta – On September 1st, 2017 members of the Stony Plain / Spruce Grove / Enoch Target Team, Drug Section and general duty conducted a joint investigation into the whereabouts of a male wanted on warrant for serious persons crimes. The male was located, and after attempting to flee on a bicycle was taken into custody by general duty members.

As a result of this investigation, a female from Spruce Grove, who was arrestable for failure to comply with a probation order, was located by members of the Target Team. The female was arrested and was found to be in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Coady BLENKHORN of Spruce Grove has been charged with: possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of break in instruments, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and multiple counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

Chanelle VANDAL-LAUMAN of Spruce Grove has been charged with: possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and multiple counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

Both BLENKHORN and VANDAL-LAUMAN were remanded into custody and both are scheduled to appear in Stony Plain Provincial Court on September 13th, 2017.
