Kelowna, BC – Police were called by a vigilant employee who reported a suspicious couple in their store. On September 11th, 2017 at 5:15 pm, the West Kelowna RCMP were called to a local business for a suspected Fraud in progress involving a male and a female.
The investigation revealed that a 23 year old female and her 30 year old accomplice had obtained a credit card in someone else’s name and promptly went on a shopping spree. The male was arrested inside the store while the female suspect was arrested in the parking lot after leaving the store once police arrived. Both male and female spent the night in jail and they will be appearing in court this morning to face a variety of charges including Identity Theft, Identity Fraud, Impersonation and Obstruction.
Both suspects are from out of province and it’s believed that they may have committed similar frauds elsewhere.
