Airdrie RCMP Charges Intoxicated Male Wielding Hockey Stick

Airdrie, Alberta – On Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at approximately 5:25pm, Airdrie RCMP began receiving multiple calls regarding a male destroying property and causing a disturbance in the Thorburn and Big Springs areas of Airdrie.

Airdrie RCMP responded with several units to the area in an attempt to locate the male. RCMP learned that the male had broken numerous items inside his own residence, threw rocks at a parked vehicle, and destroyed a neighbour’s fence. The male then stole a hockey stick and held it like a firearm pretending to shoot at passing vehicles.

The male was eventually located at the intersection of East Lake Boulevard and Thorburn Drive where he was arrested without incident. The male was cooperative with Police and determined to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

37 year old Warren Robert Eyapaise of Airdrie is charged with:

  • Mischief Over $5000
  • 2 counts of Mischief Under $5000
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Causing a Disturbance
  • Breach of Probation

Eyapaise was remanded into custody and will appear via CCTV at the Provincial Court of Alberta in Airdrie on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
