Comox Valley, BC – On September 12th at approximately 3:45 am, the Comox Valley RCMP responded to the intersection of 17th Avenue and Fitzgerald Avenue to assist Courtenay Fire with a residential fire.
The residents were alerted about the fire, and there were no injuries.
The Comox Valley RCMP General Investigation Section, in conjunction with the Courtenay Fire Department, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section and an RCMP Fire Scene Investigator are investigating into the cause of the fire.
“While there has been some speculation the fire was suspicious in nature, the investigation is in the very early stages,” stated Comox Valley RCMP Media Relations officer Cst Rob Gardner. “Investigators will review all evidence available in an attempt to determine what happened.”
