St. Albert RCMP Search Warrant Nets Guns and Cocaine

St. Alberta, Alberta – On August 31st, 2017, as a result of an ongoing investigation related to an incident that took place in July 2017, the St. Albert RCMP General Duty officers, assisted by the St. Albert RCMP General Investigation Section executed a search warrant at an apartment located in Grandin area in St. Albert, AB.

The execution of the warrant resulted in the seizure of multiple firearms and an undisclosed amount of cocaine and crack cocaine. A 29 year old male from St. Albert was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • CC 91(3) Adult Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon or restricted weapon
  • CC 92(3)(a) Adult Possession of a Firearm/prohibited weapon
  • CC 96(2) Adult Possession of weapon obtained by crime
  • CC 108(2) Adult Possession of firearm with tampered serial number
  • CC 354(1)(a) Adult Possession of property obtained by crime
  • CC 86(2) Adult unsafe storage of firearms (3 counts)
  • CDSA 5(2) Adult Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I: cocaine

The 29 year old accused is scheduled to appear in Court on September 18th in St. Albert. The name of the man charged is not being released due to a related on-going investigation.

St. Albert RCMP release Composite Sketch in Break, Enter and Assault

St. Albert, Alberta – On July 1st, 2017 at approximately 12:30 AM, two unknown males broke into a basement suite of an apartment complex on Gainsborough Avenue in St. Albert. Reports indicate that two individuals, one wearing a balaclava entered the basement suite by pushing in a large fan which was seated in the open window.

StAlbert-SuspectThe lone male adult occupant struggled with one of the suspects and fled the apartment by the door to the hallway. Both suspects left the apartment through the window and fled the area.

Nothing was taking from the residence. The tenant suffered from a small scratch on his right forearm.

St. Albert RCMP searched the area along with the assistance of the K Division RCMP Police Dog Service unit, but was unable to locate the suspects. The continued police investigation had led the RCMP to believe that the suspects were aware of certain property within this apartment, and targeted the apartment. The RCMP do not feel that this was a random home invasion.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1

  • Aboriginal male
  • Mid 20’s
  • Approximately 5″9
  • Slight build
  • Black hair
  • Small black star tattoo under left eye

Suspect #2

  • Caucasian male
  • Approximately 6″1
  • Average build
  • Wearing a balaclava and a black coat

With the assistance of a RCMP Composite Artist, a sketch of one of the suspects has been made. This sketch is now being released to try to identify the people responsible for this crime.
