Weapon & Drug Possession Charges Laid in Prince Albert

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – On Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 12:14 a.m. Prince Albert Police Service officers were dispatched to 600 Block 13 Street West for a disturbance.

When officers arrived the suspect causing the disturbance had already left in a blue car. The officers located the suspected vehicle on 15 Street West and activated their emergency lights and sirens.

Officers approached the vehicle which had multiple occupants. They talked to the driver of the vehicle and noticed he was holding a marijuana baggie. Everyone in the vehicle was arrested and the vehicle was further searched.

A female occupant of the vehicle was found with several small baggies of methamphetamine on her person. The 31-year-old female suspect from Prince Albert is charged with possession of methamphetamine (Information #991025520).

A male occupant of the vehicle was found with a knife concealed in his belt area and several small baggies of suspect methamphetamine (weighing .4 grams in total). The 18-year-old male suspect from Sandy Bay, Saskatchewan is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a weapon (a knife) for a purpose dangerous to the public peace and in breach of a youth sentence order (Information #991025521).

The accused will make their first court appearances in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
