Provost RCMP arrest two after suspicious vehicle reported

Provost, Alberta – On Sept, 22, 2017, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Provost RCMP received numerous calls of a suspicious vehicle that was seen near Czar, Alberta.

The vehicle was located near the Hughenden Golf Course campground, where police were able to confirm it was stolen. Randolph Freng, a 56-year-old male from Lloydminster was arrested without incident and several stolen items were recovered as a result. Police also recovered a stolen motorhome, travel trailer and license plates in the area.

Later that evening, due to additional tips from the public, a stolen F-350 was also recovered in Hughenden. A second arrest was made on Sept. 23, 2017 of Travas Freng, a 25-year-old male from Kitscoty. Travas Freng was also wanted on 11 warrants for his arrest at the time of his capture.

Randolph Freng** has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5000.00 (X2)
  • Possession of stolen property under $5000.00 (X4)
  • Obstruction
  • Possession of break in tools
  • Fail to comply with an Undertaking

He was remanded into custody and appeared today in Vegreville Provincial Court.

Travas Freng** has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5000
  • Possession of stolen property under $5000 (X2)
  • Obstruction
  • Possession of break in tools
  • Fail to comply with an Undertaking (X4)

He was remanded into custody and is set to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Sept. 26, 2017.

Provost RCMP would like to thank the public for their tips and help in the recovery of all the stolen property and reporting of suspicious activity. As these matters are now before the court, no further information will be made available.
