Abbotsford, BC – Just before midnight on Saturday, October 7, 2017, the Abbotsford Police Department was called to a reported assault-with-a-weapon incident at a residence in the 2200 block of Clearbrook Road. At that location, a 22-year-old man was stabbed with a knife during an altercation with a 30-year-old male suspect.
Upon arrival, APD Patrol and Emergency Response Team Officers immediately began to administer first aid to the victim, who was bleeding from three stab wounds, and to search the residence for the suspect. The victim and suspect are known to each other
and apparently became embroiled in a heated exchange at the house party.
The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening, injuries. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The Major Crime Unit of the APD has now taken over the investigation.
