Airdrie, Alberta – Airdrie RCMP are currently investigating 2 break and enters that took place at 2 separate pharmacies in Airdrie.
On January 14, 2018 at approximately 3:30 am, 2 male suspects entered the Village Medical Pharmacy located on Centre Avenue East in Airdrie. The suspects moved directly to the narcotics cupboard and proceeded to fill a blue and black duffle bag that they had brought with them full of drugs. One suspect also entered an office and stole a laptop.
Shortly thereafter, at approximately 3:50 am, the 2 suspects entered the Sandstone Pharmacy on 8th Street SW in Airdrie. The suspects had popped the lock on the outer door by using a tool then entered and proceeded to use a pry bar to smash the inner door to gain entry to the pharmacy. Again, they proceeded directly to the narcotics cupboard but, fled when they noticed that the narcotics were locked in a safe.
Through video surveillance, it was learned that the suspects had visited both pharmacies earlier in the night and prior to actually breaking in.
The first male suspect was wearing a grey hoodie, white ball cap, black face covering, jeans, gloves with reflective stripes, sneakers, and carrying a blue and black duffle bag.
The second male suspect was wearing a black jacket/hoodie over a grey/green hoodie, dark sweatpants, sneakers, and black and yellow gloves.
Surveillance photos of both suspects are being released to the public. Anyone with information on this occurrence or whom can assist in identifying the suspects is asked to contact Constable Cassondra Greene or Constable Mohamed Maiga at the Airdrie RCMP Detachment at (403) 945-7200.
