Child Exploitation Charges Laid Against St. Albert Resident

St. Albert, Alberta – After a lengthy investigation, St. Albert RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) with the assistance of Alert’s Integrated Child Exploitation Unit (I.C.E), a local cab driver was arrested for numerous child exploitation offences. It is alleged that the 68 year old cab driver would provide rides, gifts and contact teenage females via his cellular device in an attempt to form relationships for a sexual purpose.

St. Albert resident, Imam BUKSH, was charged with:

  • Transmitting Child Pornography – Section 163.1(2) C.C.
  • Luring a Child for a Sexual Purpose – Section 172.1(1)(b) C.C.
  • Make Arrangement to Commit a Sexual Offence Against a Child – Section 172.2(1)(b)
  • Attempt to Commit a Sexual Assault On a Child – Section 463/271 C.C.
  • Counsel to Attempt to Commit Sexual Interference – Section 464(a) C.C.

Imam BUKSH is scheduled to appear in St. Albert Provincial Court April 16, 2018.

Currently St. Albert RCMP have no information to suggest BUKSH offended on any of the teenagers, but acknowledge BUKSH has provided cab rides to other young people and there could potentially be other victims, thus they are encouraging anyone with information about this investigation to come forward and contact the St. Albert R.C.M.P. at 780-458-7700 or call your local police.
