Bay St. George, Newfoundland and Labrador – At approximately 11:00 p.m. on May 16, 2018, Bay St. George RCMP received a report of a residential robbery in progress at a residence in the community of Mattis Point.
Bay St. George RCMP, along with Police Dog Services West and the Forensic Identification Section, responded to the report and attended the scene.
Several suspects forced their way into the residence and violence was used during the robbery from the residents of the home. Both occupants of the house attended Sir Thomas Roddick hospital and were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
An undisclosed quantity of cash was stolen and the suspects fled the scene. The police do not believe that this was a random act of violence. The investigation is continuing.
