Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Two off-duty Saskatoon Police Service members assisted in the arrest of an impaired driver after a collision Friday evening.
Just before 10:30 PM, two off-duty officers were about to enter their personal vehicle in the 500 block of 20th Street West, when they observed a westbound car narrowly miss a pedestrian and collide with a parked vehicle. After the collision, the driver operating the westbound vehicle did not stop and continued west on 20th St.
The officers followed the suspect vehicle until it came to a stop at 20th Street and Ave. M where they were able to extract the driver and place her under arrest. On duty Patrol officers arrived on the scene and took the suspect into custody.
A 22 year old Saskatoon woman has been charged with impaired driving, driving over .08 and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. She will be appearing in court later this month.
