Haut-Shippagan man sentenced to 14 months in prison for cocaine trafficking

Haut-Shippagan, New Brunswick – A 51-year-old man from Haut-Shippagan has been sentenced to 14 months in prison for cocaine trafficking, following an investigation by the RCMP in New Brunswick.

Mario Savoie was arrested June 15, 2016 following an investigation by RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime targeting street-level drug dealing. Savoie pleaded guilty on March 30, 2017 to a charge of trafficking cocaine.

On August 11, 2017, Mario Savoie was sentenced to 14 months in prison. He is also banned from owning firearms for a period of ten years.
