Regina Male Facing Weapon Charges Following Incident Early Monday Morning

Regina, Saskatchewan – A 30-year-old Regina male is facing numerous criminal charges including possession of a weapon and possession of a scheduled substance following an incident early on Monday morning.

On September 4, 2017, at approximately 2:21 a.m., a male was observed tapping on a residence door and window on the 1400 block of Retallack Street with the handle of a firearm. Shortly after, the male allegedly showed his firearm to two pedestrians on the same street. The male was located by police in a business on the corner of Dewdney Avenue and Robinson Street. The male was taken into custody without much incident.

Thirty-year-old William Wayne STARR, DOB: 1987-07-02, of Regina, is charged with:

  • Possession of a Weapon [Sec 88, CC];
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance (cocaine) [Sec 4(1), CDSA];
  • Assault with a Weapon [Sec 267(A), CC].

STARR made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
