Successful police track by patrol and PSD Daxa leads to arrest of man wanted for assault of Prince Albert hotel worker

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – On Wednesday, September 6, 2017 shortly after 4:30 a.m. Prince Albert Police Service attended 3800 2nd Avenue West for a disturbance complaint. The complainant was a front desk worker of the hotel who alleged that he was assaulted by an intoxicated male. The male had been causing a disturbance in the hotel and was asked to leave the property. When the hotel worker attempted to evict him the male suspect then turned aggressive and began punching him. He received several blows to the head. The suspect then fled on foot leaving the hotel.

Patrol members along with Police Service Dog Daxa and handler Constable Bighetty attempted to track the suspect. The track was successful in locating the suspect on 4th Avenue West who was arrested just after 5 a.m.

The 30-year-old man from Pelican Narrows is charged with Assault and will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today (Info # 991024740).
