P.E.I. RCMP respond to vehicle collision with school bus

Central Bedeque, Prince Edward Island – On May 17th at approximately 3:20 pm, the East Prince RCMP received a report that a vehicle had collided with a school bus carrying children on Route 171 in Central Bedeque.

Officers responded and quickly determined that the school bus had stopped to allow children to exit when it was struck from behind by a pickup truck. There were no injuries to any of the 26 children onboard the bus. The operator of the bus and pickup truck were also uninjured.

The matter remains under investigation but charges under the Highway Traffic Act are expected to be laid against the operator of the pickup truck.
