Saskatchewan RCMP: Country Thunder daily update – July 13, 2018

Craven, Saskatchewan – Country Thunder is well underway! The area is expected to see an influx of over 20,000 people and Saskatchewan RCMP is pleased with the overall level of cooperation of the public so far at Craven. In order to ensure everyone has a pleasant weekend, we would like to remind everyone to lock up their valuables when they are away from their campsite.

Here are today’s daily stats:

We had a total of 23 calls for service on the Craven grounds since 7:00 am yesterday. Of the 23 calls, 4 were reports of assaults. One person was charged with impaired driving on the festival grounds.

We have lodged a total of 8 prisoners so far.

Combined Traffic Services (CTSS) conducted 270 vehicle stops resulting in 66 charges under the Traffic Safety act, 85 warning tickets were issued. 2 license suspensions were issued for alcohol and one impaired driver was charged.

Saskatchewan RCMP patrolling the event will continue to enforce a “zero tolerance” policy towards public drunkenness, open liquor, underage drinking, illicit drug use, causing a disturbance, and any other offence. This enforcement is crucial to the safety and security of everyone at Craven.
