Lillooet, BC – The RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit and Lillooet RCMP are continuing their investigation into the death of Patrick (Zube) Aylward. Investigators have confirmed that his death was a homicide. Investigators have set up a dedicated tipline.
RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit and Lillooet RCMP continue to investigate the suspicious death that occurred at a residence on Highline Road, Anderson Lake (Seton Portage) this past weekend. A forensic autopsy for the deceased male was completed on October 18, 2018. The RCMP and BC Coroner’s Service can now confirm that the deceased was Patrick (Zube) AYLWARD, 71 years, of Seton Portage. The release of the victims’ identity has been made in order to advance the investigation.
The RCMP are aware of numerous rumours about Mr. Aylward’s death, circulating around the communities of Seton Portage, D’Arcy, Pemberton and Whistler. The investigation to date leads investigators to believe that Mr. Aylward’s death was a targeted and isolated incident.
Mr Aylwards’ death does not create a safety risk for others in the community.
“To protect the integrity of the investigation the cause of Mr. AYLWARD’s death will not be released. Investigators have confirmed, however, that Mr. AYLWARD’s death was a murder. Investigators continue to pursue a multitude of tips and thank the public for their assistance. Investigators are still interested in speaking to anyone who travelled Highline Road during the late evening of Friday October 12 and early morning of Saturday October 13,” stated Cpl Dan Moskaluk
