Warrant issued for the arrest of Brooks man for assaulting police officer

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of an 18-year-old Brooks man who assaulted a police officer and attempted to disarm him.

On October 28, 2018 at approximately 1:30 a.m. police responded to a large out-of-control party at La Cite Des Prairies along the 600 block of 21 Street South. Upon arrival police were met by a large crowd of intoxicated youths exiting the building after a fire extinguisher had been discharged in the gym resulting in a number of fights breaking out. As the crowd was leaving, a secondary disturbance and fight broke out one block south of the building.

While an officer was placing a subject under arrest, a male tackled him from behind and the officer was knocked to the ground. The male attempted to hold the officer down and tried to remove his Conducted Energy Weapon from its holster. The officer was able to break free and maintain control of the weapon and the subject fled the scene. The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigation determined the facility had been rented for a private Halloween party. Approximately 100-150 youths ranging in age from 15 to 21 were in attendance and consuming alcohol. Damage to the building is estimated at approximately $4,000.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Peyton Thomas Kale Many Shots, 18, of Brooks, who is charged with assaulting a peace officer, disarming or attempting to disarm a peace officer and obstructing a peace officer.

Anyone with information on Many Shots’ whereabouts is asked to contact police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477. Crime Stoppers will pay cash for information leading to an arrest.
