Rosthern/Prince Albert RCMP – Federal prisoner recaptured

Rosthern/Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – At approximately 4:30 p.m. on October 30th, Prince Albert RCMP received a report of a possible sighting of Louis Bonneau in a rural area near Macdowell, SK. Bonneau had escaped lawful custody on Oct. 28th from the Willow Cree Healing Lodge federal institution on Beardy’s First Nation.

When members from Rosthern and Prince Albert detachments arrived on-scene, they encountered a number of local residents who had set-up containment around a farm yard where the suspect was last seen. Shortly after, Bonneau surrendered himself and was taken into custody without incident. He was then transported to hospital to receive medical attention for prolonged exposure. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The investigation remains ongoing. The RCMP would like to thank the media, the public and our partners at the Correctional Service of Canada for their assistance in this matter.
