Two from Alberta Arrested in Saskatchewan on Vehicle Theft Charges

Wilkie, Saskatchewan – On November 25, 2018, around 4:30 p.m., Wilkie RCMP received a complaint of a vehicle theft from a rural property in the RM of Round Valley east of Unity. A 2017 Ram 3500 pickup truck was stolen from the property.

Members located the stolen vehicle driving in Wilkie on 7th Avenue and attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle failed to stop for members. The vehicle then drove into a street sign and the vehicle occupants fled on foot.

Both vehicle occupants were arrested a short time later without incident.

The recovered stolen vehicle sustained minor damage.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, Joshua Blair Turner, 36, from Sherwood Park, Alberta, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft of Truck – Section 333.1(1) Criminal Code
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 – Section 354(1)(a) Criminal Code
  • Flight from Police – Section 249.1(1) Criminal Code
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle – Section 249(1)(a) Criminal Code
  • Mischief Under $5000 (two counts) – Section 430(4) Criminal Code
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – Section 354(1)(a) Criminal Code

The passenger of the stolen vehicle, Travis Neal Wite, 47, from Edmonton, Alberta, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft of Truck – Section 333.1(1) Criminal Code
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 – Section 354(1)(a) Criminal Code
  • Mischief Under $5000 (two counts) – Section 430(4) Criminal Code
  • Break and Enter with Intent – Section 348(1)(a) Criminal Code
  • Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (bear spray) – Section 88(2) Criminal Code
