UPDATE: Stony Plain RCMP investigate serious collision

Stony Plain, Alberta – (11:57 pm) – Four people were injured following a two vehicle collision on Highway 627 near Range Road 265. A Dodge Ram pickup truck and a Ford Econoline Van collided shortly after 3:30 P.M. on December 7. Each of the injured people were transported to area hospitals with varying degrees of non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic in the area is now flowing in both directions; however, minor delays may be expected as investigators continue to work on the scene.

The cause of the collision is not yet known.

Stony Plain RCMP investigate serious collision

Stony Plain, Alberta – (5:21 pm) – The RCMP in Stony Plain are currently on scene at a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 627 near Range Road 265. The highway is impassable at this time due to the collision and emergency response. Detours have been established to move traffic around the collision scene.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes. These detours are expected to be in place for the next several hours.
