Lloydminster RCMP arrest four in stolen vehicle

Lloydminster, Alberta – On Jan. 5, 2019 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Lloydminster RCMP located a stolen white truck in the 2500 block of 50 Avenue. A traffic stop was attempted with the vehicle but it fled northbound on 50 Avenue. A pursuit was not initiated due to public safety.

Police were able to follow the vehicle at a safe distance when it struck a vehicle on 44th Street. A second traffic stop was attempted near Township Road 510 but the truck fled again and struck another police vehicle on the passenger side. The four occupants of the vehicle were quickly arrested without incident. One occupants from the truck and a police officer were treated for minor injuries.

Robert Lee Plourde (22) of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, is charged with multiple criminal code offences including:

  • Causing bodily harm by criminal negligence
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Assault of a peace officer with a weapon
  • Flight from police officer
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

He was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 8, 2019.

Kashtin Lee Sandfly (19) of Onion Lake, Saskatchewan, is charged with:

  • Resisting arrest
  • Flight from police officer

He was released after a judicial hearing and will be appearing in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 8, 2019.

Lorraine Destiny Violet Cook (23) of Onion Lake, Saskatchewan, is charged with failing to comply (x3). She was released after a judicial hearing and will be appearing in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 22, 2019.

The fourth occupant of the vehicle was released without charges.
