Mounties surround house during stabbing investigation

Agassiz, BC – On January 8, 2019 at approximately 9:15 p.m. the Agassiz RCMP responded to a report a 48- year- old man suffering life-threatening stab wounds, who had been transported to the hospital. RCMP officers were able to connect the incident to a residence in the 300-block of Chestnut Avenue in Harrison Hot Springs and to a suspect to the stabbing.

In the early morning of January 9, 2019 Aggasiz RCMP supported by Hope RCMP, Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service (IPDS) and the Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team (ERT) cordoned off an area around the home. Unfortunately, the suspect was not located during a search of the premises.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian male.
  • Height: 188 cm (6’2).
  • Weight: 95 kgs (209 lbs).
  • Hair: Brown.
  • Eyes: Brown

“Agassiz RCMP investigators are currently in the early evidence gathering stages of their investigation and believe the occurrence was a targeted act,” says Corporal Mike Rail spokesperson for the UFVRD.
