Carbonear man loses licence after speeding in New Harbour Barrens

Whitbourne, Newfoundland and Labrador – On Saturday, January 26, 2018, just after 11:00 p.m., Whitbourne RCMP were conducting a patrol on Route 73 in New Harbour Barrens when a vehicle was observed travelling more than 58 kms above the posted speed limit of 80 kms.

A 29-year-old man from Carbonear was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for speeding and his driver’s licence was suspended for seven days.

The RCMP warn motorists of the dangers of driving with excessive speeds and inform that they will continue enforcement efforts of aggressive drivers to help keep the highways safe.
