Holyrood, Newfoundland and Labrador – Shortly after 9:00 p.m. last night, Holyrood RCMP were called to the scene of a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision that occurred approximately one km east of Foxtrap Access Road on the Trans-Canada Highway.
When police arrived on scene they found the driver, a 22-year-old man from Carbonear, had been ejected from the vehicle and had died at the scene.
The vehicle had been travelling west on the TCH and lost control, crossed the median, went into the east bound lane and came to rest down an embankment. A 22-year-old man, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was ejected. investigation has determined that the driver was not wearing a seat belt
An RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene to conduct an investigation into the cause of the collision. Also in attendance were officers of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, St. John’s Regional Fire Department and paramedics.
The investigation is continuing.
