5 adults face 44 charges after being interrupted by homeowner during B&E

Turner Valley, Alberta – Thursday February 7th, 2019 at 3:00p.m., 5 suspects were interrupted by a rural homeowner southwest of the Town of Turner Valley, Alberta after smashing several windows of the garage and the house, and stealing property. The suspects fled in two cars.

Two suspects were apprehended shortly thereafter on Highway 541 West of Longview after their vehicle hit the ditch and they fled on foot. The vehicle was determined to be stolen out of Calgary, Alberta. High River RCMP members, Okotoks RCMP members, RCMP Police Dog Service and the Calgary Police HAWCS helicopter were in the area to assist and two further suspects were apprehended near Cataract Creek in Kananaskis. The second vehicle involved was not stolen.

The fifth suspect was apprehended Feb.8th, 2019 by the Okotoks RCMP.

The following 5 adults face 44 charges in relation to these events, which include but are not limited to:

Break and Enter a residence; Disguise with Intent; Possession of Stolen property; Possession of Methamphetamine; Obstruction; Possession of Break-In instruments; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime; Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Breach of Probation.

Marcelo MANUEL 25 years old male of Claresholm, AB

Catlin CALLAHAN, 34 years old male of Calgary, AB

John KIRBY, 37 years old male of Calgary, AB.

Heidi THOMAS and Marcelo MANUEL have been released from custody to appear in Turner Valley Provincial Court, Tues. Feb.12, 2019.

The remaining 3, have been remanded into custody and will also appear in Turner Valley Provincial Court, Tues. Feb.12, 2019.
