Arrest of Moncton man results in multiple drug and firearms charges

Moncton, New Brunswick – A 28-year-old Moncton man faces multiple drug and firearms charges following an arrest by Codiac Regional RCMP on February 20, 2019.

Michael William Campbell was charged in Moncton Provincial Court on February 22, with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking; possession of cocaine; possession of ecstasy; possession of a prohibited weapon; possession of a firearm while prohibited; possession of counterfeit money; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and breach of probation.

Police had stopped Campbell on February 20 as the result of a traffic-related matter. A subsequent search of his vehicle and his residence resulted in the seizure of drugs, firearms and cash.

He has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance.
