Assault On Saskatoon Police Officer in 100 Block of 23rd St. E

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – A Saskatoon man is in custody after assaulting an officer.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., March 5, 2019, Patrol members were dispatched to a condominium in the 100 block of 23rd Street East for a report of suspicious person. The call stated that a man was attempting to a enter a suite and was seen hiding from people. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect who was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant. Police placed the man under arrest for being intoxicated in public. As officers were escorting him to the Patrol car, he became combative and caused a disturbance by lying in the street and assaulting members. Upon being taken into custody, officers found the suspect to be in possession of a set of brass knuckles.

A 40 year old Saskatoon man is charged with Resisting Arrest, Assaulting an Officer, Obstructing an Officer and numerous weapons related charges. He was also charged with Breach of Probation.
