Assault On Saskatoon Police Officer

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – One man is facing three charges of assaulting an officer after resisting arrest yesterday afternoon.

Patrol members were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Confederation Drive to check on the welfare of a man who was believed to be in a vulnerable state, and may be a risk to himself and the public. At approximately 5:30 p.m., March 11, 2019, Officers and Mobile Crisis located the male parked in the 300 block of Smallwood Crescent in his truck. He refused to comply with Police commands and became aggressive. A brief altercation took place as officers were apprehending the man. During the altercation, one officer was spit on and another received a broken hand. The male was taken into custody without further incident. The officer who received the fracture was transported to hospital for treatment.

A 32 year old Saskatoon man is charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer (x3).
