Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Save Man From Overdose

Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta – Late last week, members of the Traffic/Crime Reduction Unit saved the life of a male suffering from an opioid overdose.

During a traffic stop, a male was placed in the back of the police vehicle and shortly afterwards he was observed to be slumped over and unresponsive.

The male was removed from the police vehicle and placed on the ground. Utilizing their training and believing that he was suffering an opioid overdose, Members administered Naloxone Nasal Spray and attempted to rouse him.

The male became responsive. Emergency Medical Services arrived shortly after and transported him to the hospital for further treatment.

Thanks to the quick actions taken by the RCMP Members, the life of this young man was saved and he is recovering from the overdose.
