UPDATE: Killam RCMP investigate fatal collision on Highway 13 east of Daysland

Daysland, Alberta – On March 10, 2019, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Killam RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 855, just east of Daysland. An SUV was travelling southbound on Highway 855 when it turned west onto Highway 13 and collided with a eastbound truck and trailer.

The lone 83-year old female from Flagstaff County, Alberta and lone occupant of the SUV was pronounced deceased on scene.

The two occupants of the eastbound truck suffered minor injuries. The driver, a 25-year-old female and the passenger, a 64-year old male both from Manitoba were treated on scene for there injuries.

Traffic was diverted from the collision scene for a period of time while the RCMP Collision Analyst conducted an investigation.

Weather and road conditions do not appear to be factors in relation to this incident. The name of the deceased female will not be released and no charges will be laid.

Daysland, Alberta – RCMP are on scene of a serious collision involving an SUV and a pickup pulling a horse trailer on Highway 13 near Highway 855. Highway 13 is impassible at this time and traffic is being rerouted. As this matter is still under investigation, there is no further information available at this time.
