Woman charged with attempted murder in connection with assault

Moncton, New Brunswick – A 55-year-old woman from Moncton, N.B., has been charged with a number of serious offences in connection with an incident that occurred earlier this week that left another woman injured.

On March 12, 2019, shortly before 8:30 p.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a residence on Gloucester Street, where a woman had been assaulted with a weapon.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment, and a 55-year-old woman was arrested at the residence.

Clare Gallagher was charged with attempted murder, unlawful confinement, uttering threats, and assault. She appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on March 14 for a bail hearing and was remanded into custody.
