Innisfail RCMP respond to sleeping man and make arrest

Innisfail, Alberta – On March 13, 2019 Innisfail RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle stuck in the ditch on Township Road 352 and Range Road 281 in Red Deer County. RCMP approached the vehicle and observed a male sleeping in the driver seat and a shot gun next to him. RCMP noted the plate on the vehicle was reported stolen. Police attempted to arrest the driver who resisted arrest. The investigation revealed that the vehicle was also stolen.

Bryan Lawrence MOFFITT (22 yrs) of Red Deer County was arrested and has been charged with 37 criminal code charges including but not limited to:

• Assault police X3

• Resist arrest

• Possess stolen property over $5000

• Possess stolen property under $5000

• Possess controlled substance

• Possess weapon dangerous to public peace X2

• Unauthorized possession of firearm X2

• Possess weapon contrary to order X6

• Fail to comply with undertaking X 10

• Fail to comply with probation X2

• Prohibited operation of motor vehicle

• Drive uninsured motor vehicle

• Drive unregistered motor vehicle

Moffitt has a bail hearing scheduled in Red Deer Provincial Court March 21, 2019 at 920 am
