UPDATE: Investigation Reveals Westlock Attempted Abduction Was Fabricated

Westlock, Alberta – Westlock RCMP and RCMP General Investigative Section have investigated a matter where a 15-year-old female alleged a male and female attempted to force her from the Spirit Centre Arena in Westlock, Alta.

The RCMP has determined, after a detailed investigation was conducted, that the incident was fabricated. The matter has been resolved and no charges have been laid.

“I want to ensure the public that their safety was not at risk as a result of this incident,” says Cpl. Filipe Vicente. “We understand that the public was very concerned by this information, and we are pleased to be able to provide this update that the incident did not occur.”

Westlock RCMP investigate attempted abduction

Westlock, Alta. – RCMP continue to investigate after an attempted abduction last night.

On March 11, 2019 at approximately 9:30 p.m., a 15-year-old female victim was seated alone at the Spirit Centre Arena when she was approached by a male and female suspect. The suspects asked where the victim`s parents were, and advised the victim that they were told to bring the victim to her parents.

The victim was grabbed by the arm and forced to the stairway. The victim managed to break free and the suspects fled.

Male suspect is described as:

– Caucasian male

– White short hair

– Grey hoodie and brown jacket

Female suspect is described as:

– Salt and pepper curly hair

– Black sweater with black leggings

– Black mukluk boots

Sufficient police resources including the RCMP General Investigation Section is currently working the investigation.
