Iqaluit man charged with Kidnapping with a firearm

Iqaluit, Nunavut – On April 10, 2019 Iqaluit RCMP received a complaint that an adult male was taken out of a residence and held against his own will by another adult male. Iqaluit RCMP arrested an adult male in connection to the incident and there were no injuries.

23 year old Gabriel Choquette of Iqaluit, NU has been charged with kidnapping with a firearm and several other Criminal Code offences.

Choquette appeared before a Justice of the Peace Court on April 11, 2019 and was released on a recognizance with several conditions. His next scheduled court appearance is May 6, 2019.
