Patient in ambulance assaults paramedic, steals ambulance and crashes

Flower’s Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador – On Friday evening, April 12, 2019, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Flower’s Cove RCMP received a report that a patient who was being transported in an ambulance assaulted a paramedic, stole the ambulance and crashed it a short distance away.

Police arrived at the scene of the crash and took the 48-year-old man into custody.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
