Bay Roberts, Newfoundland and Labrador – Bay Roberts RCMP seize vehicle from Marysvale woman who had no licence, registration and insurance and was traveling with children who were not properly restrained.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. this morning, Bay Roberts RCMP received a report of a driver who was operating a vehicle with small children inside who were not properly restrained or secured.
Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in Bay Roberts. Police observed two children who were, as reported, not properly secured. The driver, a 33-year-old woman from Marysvale, did not have a valid driver’s licence. In addition, the vehicle was not insured or registered.
She was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for each violation.
Police seized and impounded the vehicle and contacted the local office of Children, Seniors and Social Development to assist in the investigation, ensuring the safety of the children involved.
RCMP NL reminds motorists of the importance of having children belted in a vehicle and the importance of having them in the proper type of child restraint system.
