24 year old man dies in ATV incident in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut

Cambridge Bay, Nunavut – On May 11, 2019 at approximately 11 p.m. Cambridge Bay RCMP officers were dispatched to an ATV crash in the community. When officers arrived on scene, the community’s by-law officer was performing CPR on driver of the ATV. RCMP officers assisted with resuscitation efforts and the driver was transported to the Health Centre by ambulance where the 24 year old male was pronounced deceased.

RCMP conducted an investigation and determined this to be a single vehicle collision. The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, hit a snow bank and lost control of the ATV. Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in this incident.
