Ile-a-la Crosse, Saskatchewan – On May 10, the RCMP from Ile-a-la Crosse with the assistance of Prince Albert Integrated Street Enforcement Team, Detachment members from La Loche, Buffalo Narrows, Beauval detachments, and RCMP Meadow Lake Police Dog Services, conducted a search under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act on a residence in Ile-a-la Crosse.
Located in the search was 112 grams of crack cocaine packaged for distribution, 30 grams of an unidentified white powder, 10,000 dollars in Canadian currency, a loaded .45 calibre handgun, numerous cell phones, and an electronic scale. The Ile-a-la Crosse Detachment had been working on this investigation since April of 2019 to combat the drug trafficking in the area.
Several people are facing a variety of charges as a result of this investigation:
Adam Mohamed Elmi of Estevan is facing 8 charges including trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime, possession of a restricted weapon, and possession of a restricted weapon while prohibited
Omar Ali Nur of Edmonton is facing 6 charges including possession of the proceeds of crime, and possession of a restricted weapon.
Joylene Cassandra Morin of Ile-a-la-Crosse is facing 6 charges including trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime, and possession of a restricted weapon.
Jaydene Monica Morin of Ile-a-la-Crosse is facing 1 charge of Trafficking in a controlled substance.
Abdul Rahman Al-Tamimi of Edmonton is facing 6 charges including possession of the proceeds of crime, possession of a restricted weapon, and careless storage of a firearm.
All persons charged will appearance in Provincial court on Wednesday June 26th in Ile-a-la Crosse Saskatchewan to answer to the charges.
