RCMP Drug Section arrest male on outstanding warrant and lay additional charges

Spruce Grove, Alberta – On May 14, 2019 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Stony Plain/Spruce Grove/Enoch RCMP Drug Section arrested an adult male on an outstanding warrant at the Tri Leisure Centre in Spruce Grove.

At the time of his arrest the adult male was bound by three separate probation orders and one recognizance. Other charges have been laid as a result of him being in possession of 24 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and 2 grams of fentanyl. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of another 6 grams of crystal methamphetamine inside a locker at the Tri Leisure Centre.

Tyson Niles (31) of Spruce Grove, has been charged with:

• Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking

• Possession of fentanyl

• Possession of property obtained by crime

• Fail to comply with a probation order (x6)

• Fail to comply with a recognizance

Niles has been remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and will be appearing in Stony Plain Provincial Count on May 22, 2019.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further details will be available.
