Yellowknife RCMP respond to a houseboat on fire

Yellowknife , Northwest Territories – A fire burning down a houseboat on Yellowknife Bay prompted Yellowknife RCMP to dispatch police officers to the site.

The fire broke out just after 3:00 am on Wednesday, May 15, and was out of control when Yellowknife RCMP reached the area. The City of Yellowknife Fire Division also attended.

Two occupants safely exited the burning structure. One occupant sustained a non-life threatening injury and was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Stanton Territorial Hospital.

Yellowknife RCMP is assisting the Office of the Fire Marshal with the investigation, which is not deemed suspicious.
