Ponoka, Alberta – On Monday May 15, 2019, at approximately 2:25 a.m., member of the Ponoka RCMP detachment responded to a complaint of a suspicious male located on a rural property.
Upon arrival, Ponoka RCMP members located an adult male who provided a false name to police. Further investigation revealed the true identity of the male as 25 year old Collin James COURTEOREILLE from Spruce Grove, Alberta. It was determined that COURTEOREILLE was currently wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for violating his Statutory Release, .
In addition to the Parole Violation, COURTEOREILLE has been charged with one count of Obstructing Police and one count of Identity Fraud. COURTEOREILLE was released in a judicial interim release hearing to appear in court in Ponoka on May 24, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
Everyone has a role to play in keeping our communities safe. This successful arrest is a direct result of citizens who noticed something suspicious and called the police. If you see something, do not assume someone else has reported it. Write it down and call the police.

Collin James COURTEOREILLE was wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for violating his Statutory Release, not a Parole Violation.
While Collin James COURTEOREILLE was released in a judicial interim release hearing to appear in court in Ponoka on May 24, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. on the new charges of Obstructing Police and one count of Identity Fraud, he was held in custody for violating his Statutory Release.
