UPDATE: Canmore RCMP Assist Kananaskis Search and Rescue for Hiker

Canmore, Alberta – On May 19, 2019 at approximately 1 00 pm RCMP Canmore RCMP responded to Heart Mountain in response to a report of a 21 year old male hiker who had fallen approximately 60 feet down Heart Mountain. The male was with at least one other hiker at the time. The male has now been recovered from the area and has been confirmed deceased.

No further information will be released at this time, pending notification to next of kin.

Canmore, Alta – On May 19, 2019 at approximately 1:00 pm RCMP Canmore RCMP responded to Heart Mountain in response to a report of a 21 year old male hiker, who had fallen from the mountain.

Canmore RCMP and the Kananaskis Search and Rescue are still engaged with rescue efforts, and the condition of the male is not known at this time.
