Red Deer RCMP seek public assistance in locating next of kin after urn found

Red Deer, Alberta – Red Deer RCMP are trying to locate the next of kin of a male by the last name of Severight (deceased in 2017) after an urn with ashes was found along the bank of the Red Deer River on May 13.

The urn, a plain black plastic box, had a tag embossed with “Hainstock 14300”. Upon further investigation, police determined the urn was from the Hainstock Funeral Home and Crematorium in Edmonton.

Working with the funeral home, police have made attempts to contact the next of kin on file, however these efforts have been unsuccessful so far.

The urn was found along the walking path on the north side of the Red Deer River on Riverside Drive.
