Whitecourt RCMP Investigating Theft of Motor Grader and Arson

Whitecourt, Alberta – On May 21, 2019 Whitecourt RCMP were investigating a suspicious occurrence of a person asleep in a motor grader on the Groat Creek Road in Woodlands County.

Upon police arrival the male occupant of the grader drove off with the grader striking the police vehicle, disabling it. He then drove off. The suspect later abandoned the grader after getting stuck. A fire was believed to have started near the location of the abandoned grader.

The male suspect fled the scene on foot and has yet to be located.

The Whitecourt RCMP and Alberta Provincial Fire Investigator continue to investigate this crime.
