Rankin Inlet RCMP make large drug seizure

Rankin Inlet, Nunavut – At approximately 9:00 pm on Friday, June 6, 2019. Rankin Inlet RCMP were dispatched to a residence to deal with an unwanted occupant. The occupant of the residence was found to be in possession of a large quantity of drugs and cash. Drugs seized during the arrest were cannabis and psilocybin including drug manufacturing paraphernalia.

A 38 year old male from Rankin Inlet, NU has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Cannabis Act including drug trafficking related offences. He was released on a promise to appear and his next scheduled court date is August 12, 2019 in Rankin Inlet.

The Rankin Inlet RCMP continue to investigate the matter with the assistance of the Federal Operations Section in Iqaluit.
