Woman charged in connection with assault and robbery of senior citizen

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have charged a 34-year-old woman in connection with an incident where a senior citizen was attacked and robbed in his garage.

On June 11, 2019 at approximately 7:20 p.m. police responded to a report that a 68-year-old male had been assaulted in his garage along Simon Fraser Boulevard. Investigation determined the male had just arrived home and parked his vehicle in the garage when an unknown female entered through the overhead door. The woman yelled at the male and demanded his car keys. When he refused the woman wrapped her purse straps around his neck and proceeded to choke him. The victim was able to break free and as he attempted to use his phone to summon help, the subject grabbed it and fled.
