Grande Prairie RCMP Investigate Multiple Thefts of Trailer Batteries

Grande Prairie, Alberta – Grande Prairie RCMP have been responding to a number of incidents in relation to theft of batteries from holiday trailers in multiple areas around Grande Prairie. RCMP have approximately 20 reported incidents involving the theft of batteries from holiday trailers.

RCMP would like to advise the public these types of thefts are occurring. Police continue to investigate these incidents and encourage the public to report any suspicious activity in your neighbourhood.

Here are some general tips to help keep your personal property safe;

Turn on outside lights at night

Install a timer for lights

Park recreational vehicles in sight and chain to something if unable to store indoors

Install surveillance cameras

Engrave items with your name or a serial number

Keep a detailed list of property including photos and serial numbers

Follow a nightly checklist to ensure everything is locked up
