Athabasca RCMP execute search warrant at residence

Athabasca, Alberta – On July 9, 2019 at approximately 1:00 p.m., Athabasca RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Athabasca in relation to property theft. A significant amount of stolen property was obtained at the residence which included computers, telecom equipment, jewelry, construction materials, documents, safes, keys, and machinery/tools to name a few. A small amount of drugs were also seized at the residence which was believed to be methamphetamine.

Two residents of the apartment were arrested. Luc Roy (29) and a female (21) both of Athabasca were charged.

Luc Roy was charged with 16 Criminal Code charges of the following:

Possession of a prohibited weapon

Breach of Recognizance x 4

Break & Enter to a Business

Possession of Stolen Property x 9

Possession of methamphetamine

The 21 yr old female was charged with the following:

Possession of stolen property

Trafficking property obtained by crime.

Luc Roy was remanded into custody after a judicial hearing. He is due to appear in Athabasca to speak to bail on July 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m..

The 21 yr old female was released with a promise to appear for September 9, 2019 for court in Athabasca at 10:00 a.m.
